I just saw the Extras series finale (I know I'm late because it came out in 2007). I found it to be very upsetting. I felt so bad for Maggie because she felt like she accomplished nothing in her life. And when she was working as a cleaner and dishwasher, I was going to cry! Also, Andy was acting so spoiled and bitter. He seemed so jaded, he wanted to have everything, and it was sad that he couldn't be happy with what he had. I found it odd that a show that was so funny had such a melancholy finale.
For me, the only bright spot was the ex manager working at The Carphone Wharehouse. Those scenes were hilarious. I really wish they would have continued with the show because it was one of the best shows on TV.
Oh well, c'est la vie.

ReplyDeleteI guess I still haven't seen the finale yet cause this all sounds new to me.
I always thought Extras had a surprisingly depressing undertone for a comedy show- especially during season 2. It's definitely not a feel-good comedy show like, say, the office... anyways, I need to watch the finale!
